CROMWELL — PGA Tour players, amateurs and celebrities will be on the course at TPC River Highland Wednesday, as Travelers Championship week continues.
The Celebrity Pro-Am begins at 6:50 a.m. College basketball fans will be on the course early, as UConn men’s coach Kevin Ollie tees off on the 10th hole at 7:30. Ollie will play in a group with UConn athletic director Warde Manuel and Hartford women’s basketball coach Jennifer Rizzotti.
UConn women’s coach Geno Auriemma will play with recently retired assistant men’s coach George Blaney and professional John Rollins, teeing off at 1:10 p.m. on the first hole.
Other celebrity starting times: UConn associate women’s coach Chris Dailey (12:40 on No. 1), Andre Tippett, Chris Berman and Doug Flutie (12:50 on No. 1), and Tim Wakefield (1:00 on No. 1).
Justin Rose, who won the U.S. Open Sunday, will tee off at 12:20 on No. 1. Rose was arriving Tuesday night after making appearances in New York.
The first round of the tournament is Thursday. Defending champion Marc Leishman will tee off at 1 p.m. from the first hole Wednesday in a group with Jason Dufner and 2010 Travelers winner Bubba Watson. Rose, in a group with Keegan Bradley and Zach Johnson, will start on the first tee at 12:50 p.m. Thursday.
